ILYAS a.s.

BAALBEK PEOPLE

Alloh assigned Prophet Ilyas a.s. to spread Alloh’s message.

He was sent to Baalbek people.

People that worshipping on big statue which they made by themselves.

And they name it Baal.

There is so many times, Prophet Ilyas a.s. tried to make them back to Alloh awt.

Nothing he got but humiliation from people around.

But with his patience, Prophet Ilyas a.s. kept persuading Baalbek people.

“My people, is really stupid!”

“You worship statue of which you made by yourself, it doesn’t gives you advantage!.”

“It’s not your business, Ilyas!” one of them yelled.

“Show us, if your God is really exist!” the other said.

“My brother, my God is Alloh swt., the owner of universe.”

“you’d better repent to Alloh swt. immediately before his punishment come.” Prophet Ilyas a.s. explained.

Baalbek behavior was really out of sense, it’s really stupid.

Prophet Ilyas a.s. kept on praying asked for guidance.

He oftenly gained harsh treatment from his people.

He was oftenly chased to be killed.

Prophet Ilyas a.s. tried to save himself by getting into people’s house.

One day, he entered a house.

He saw a child lying down tirely because of sickness.

His parents were passed long time ago.

Prophet Ilyas a.s. took care and adopted that child as his own son.

The boy was named Ilyasa.

“My son, how’re you doing, you feel comfortable?” Prophet Ilyas a.s. asked.

“Alhamdulillah, Alloh gives me a chance to recover!” Ilyasa answered.

Prophet Ilyas a.s. was very grateful to God, he hoped in the future Ilyasa would continue his strive.

People of Baalbek who didn’t believe in Alloh swt. back to their attitude was getting worse.

“Ya Alloh, give me a guidance to lead them back to You!”

“They’d gone so far from Your way, give them punishment in order to make them back to You!” Prophet Ilyas a.s. asked.

Alloh answered Prophet Ilyas a.s. request.

Alloh swt hand down very long dry season.

Land which was fertile became a desert.

Many trees were dried as well as their cattle.

They began to realize and found Prophet Ilyas a.s.

“Ya, Ilyas, please ask your God to give us mercy, we confess our mistakes all the time.” They requested.

Prophet Ilyas a.s. prayed to Alloh to send rain down for them.

Land was gone fertile, however they didn’t thank to Alloh swt. so Alloh hand them down a dry season again.
